Everyone wants clear skin on their face, but your body can often be forgotten about. I used to suffer from acne on my chest, back, and shoulders; however, I have gotten rid of all of it. Once you get rid of the acne then you have to deal with the scars *rolls eyes*. I have listed products that have helped me get rid of body acne and dark spots and my regular products I like to use daily.
Retin-A. I use a prescribed retinol from my doctor and it saved my chest, shoulders, and back from acne. I only used it at night, and during the day I wore sunscreen if my skin was exposed.
Black soap. Once I realized that scented soaps were causing my skin to become irritated I stopped using them and started using black soap. Black soap helps to get rid of acne and dark spots.
Shea Butter. Shea butter helped to even out my skin tone and keep my skin moisturized. I moisturize with Shea butter while my skin is damp because it really helps to lock the moisture in. I usually make my own whipped Shea butter, or I buy some already made from whole foods. Here is a website you can buy whipped Shea butter from: perfumechick.com/index.html
Exfoliating lotion. Using an exfoliating lotion helped because it literally made my skin peel, so underneath was clear, even skin. This is great for getting rid of acne and dark spots. If you suffer from dark spots on your legs this is the product you want to use.
Daily exfoliation. I exfoliate daily with my salux wash cloth. The salux is a Japanese, nylon wash cloth. I swear by the salux because it is more sanitary than regular wash cloths, it keeps your skin clear and smooth, and it lasts for a long time (you can wash it in the washing machine). The salux is also long enough for you to thoroughly clean your back, so I will never switch back to regular wash cloths. I also exfoliate with a brown sugar scrub at least twice a week (I make my own).
Dr. Bronners Soap. Dr. Bronners soap is the best soap ever. This soap is all natural and it leaves your skin squeaky clean (literally). Using this in conjunction with the salux wash cloth and moisturizing with Shea butter will have your skin glowing. This soap, however, can be a bit drying so I would recommend using this at night and using a moisturizing soap in the morning.
Dry brushing. Dry brushing is often forgotten when it comes to skin care, but the benefits are amazing. Dry brushing helps to boost circulation, remove dead skin, stimulate lymph nodes, and improve the appearance of cellulite. Dry brushing is very important, especially if you are using an exfoliating lotion.
